Description

Darth Vader’s Executor features a neat buildable display plaque, along with the 40th anniversary Return of the Jedi plaque. A fun feature is the two small regular Star Destroyers attached to the side, which highlights the massive scale of this Super Star Destroyer from Episode VI in comparison to the “regular” Star Destroyer size. Several minifigure-scale renditions of the AAT have been produced since 2000, varying quite substantially in appearance and size. The latest model measures 14cm wide while 75080 AAT, released during 2015, measures 12cm wide and 8018 Armoured Assault Tank (AAT) measures 20cm across. I think the modern design is the most accurate in scale beside minifigures.

Ahsoka wields two blue lightsabers, reflecting her weapons from the final episodes of The Clone Wars. The character has now used three different lightsaber colours in LEGO sets! Her double-sided head features appropriate facial tattoos and two expressions, displaying determination on one side and a smile on the other. The metallic silver band below Ahsoka's montrals is attractive, although this should have been printed slightly lower. Furthermore, the lekku seem too long when compared with the onscreen character because this component was originally created for Shaak Ti, an adult Togruta in 7931 T-6 Jedi Shuttle. The alternating blue and white stripes look excellent though. I was an early fan of The Clone Wars, having seen the movie in theaters and going on to watch the series weekly from there. I was, hesitant at first... while the movie was entertaining enough I knew it was pretty bad, like worse than Phantom Menance type bad (I'd argue its better than Rise of Skywalker now, but that is another discussion entirely). Fortunately the TV show had the first glimpse of potential in season 1 shortly afterwards in the episode Rookies. A clone focused story? Nearly no Jedi in sight? Realistic war stakes? Swearing on a kids network? Rookies was the moment The Clone Wars fully hooked me and I was in on the ride for good, although I think it wasn't until Season 3 when the series really started to become consistently good. The set includes four LEGO minifigures, each intricately designed and highly detailed. Ahsoka Tano, the courageous former Jedi Padawan, is featured in her distinctive 332nd Company Clone Trooper armor, equipped with two dual-bladed lightsabers and a determined expression on her face. This minifigure captures the essence of Ahsoka’s bravery and leadership. The LEGO Group has been recreating starships, vehicles, locations and characters from the Star Wars universe since 1999, and there is a huge variety of sets to thrill fans of all ages. This Star Wars building toy makes a fun small gift for kids aged 6+ years old, and a great collectible set for Star Wars: The clone Wars fans. Anyways, I don’t recall anyone complaining that Benny got included with his Space Squad, which is basically equivalent to what we have here." Built for action play – The set includes a Clone Infantry Support Speeder, featuring seats for 2 LEGO minifigures, clips for their blasters, 2 stud shooters and a stud-shooting laser cannon There’s a minifigure chair on either side for a driver to sit, along with a clip just behind for their weapon or accessory. No controls are included but that is excusable at this scale.

A pair of silver stud shooters are placed at the front to represent the speeder’s laser cannons; these can be angled up and down. The side of the box has a small badge on the side to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Clone Wars. This Star Wars Clone Infantry Support Speeder vehicle measures over 5 cm (2 in.) high, 9 cm (3.5 in.) long and 8 cm (3 in.) wide. The torso and legs are identical to those from 75280 501st Legion Clone Troopers which is sensible as the 332nd Company is part of the 501st Legion. These elements include superb detail, continuing onto the feet. Removing the helmet reveals a new Clone Trooper head that looks splendid and the figure carries a standard blaster rifle into battle. Viewing the model from either side reveals its most notable shortcoming as the primary laser cannon is too long when compared with the source material. The body section and turret both look reasonable as individual components but appear as though they might belong with models of two different scales! Fortunately, the laser cannon barrel can be modified easily. The turret is very basic, just a stud shooter inserted into a 2×2 round plate with four bar extensions. It makes for a decent accessory to a minifigure; the turret can turn 360º and the stud can be fired off during play.

Keepability [3] – LEGO clearly seems willing to release more and more 501st Legion-themed sets, and thus this set will fit within any LEGO Star Wars collection seamlessly. LEGO has released a number of 501st Legion-themed sets recently ( 75345 and 75280), and this set slots brilliantly into that lineup.A helping hand – Want to give your young builder a more awesome building experience? Now you can with the LEGO Builder app, featuring intuitive zoom and rotate modes Additionally, the set includes a detailed command station build, featuring a small control console and storage compartments for weapons and accessories. This station serves as a base for Ahsoka and her Clone Troopers to plan their missions and coordinate their strategies. The station can be easily incorporated into other LEGO Star Wars sets for expanded play possibilities. It's worth talking a bit more about the Ahsoka minifig. When she was first introduced, everyone basically hated her (to be fair, when she was first introduced, Clone Wars was...not great, so the hatred was well-deserved). There have been two Clone Wars minifigs of Ahsoka, both with short "kiddie" lekku, and both with those ginormous anime eyes. There's only been one previous set that included an adult Ahsoka, and she had dark-orange skin in that one. That minifig also lists for more than this set costs. So, right there, it's cheaper to buy this minifig with a free set included, than it is to buy the Rebels Ahsoka loose. Also, if you want to de-anime young Ahsoka, this head looks like it can do that for you, where the dark-orange Rebels head didn't match the orange visible on either of the Clone Wars torsos."

mandrproductions ’ methods and beliefs may not be the same as yours or anyone else’s, but in the end the reason he cares so much and is the way he is- is because he cares about LEGO Star Wars." Minifigures will include Hera Syndulla, her son Jacen, Chopper the Astromech droid, and two new characters who will be making their debuts in the new Ahsoka show – a Mon Calamari named Lieutenant Beyta and also First Officer Hawkins. Unfortunately no Grand Admiral Thrawn figure, which to me is one of the only negative things to say about this set.The three Clone Trooper minifigures are also styled in the unique orange and white armor of the 332nd Company, representing their allegiance to the Republic. Each Clone Trooper is armed with a blaster rifle, ready to join the fight against the Separatist forces. The minifigures can be customized with different poses and weapons, allowing for dynamic and immersive play scenarios. Oh yeah, the fandom has had a complete 180* change of how The Clone Wars and Ahsoka are viewed. I remember in 2008 it was all discussions of how Ahsoka was a winny kid being compared to the likes of Weasley Crusher from Star Trek, a Mary Sue with a snarky attitude. Then The Clone Wars as a whole was seen as trampling on the stories made in the prior Clone Wars series, Karen Travis's Republic Commando series and the Star Wars Republic comics. Its easy to forget, but The Clone Wars had a lot of negative reception from the fanbase at launch. Time will tell if this new style is a one-time build for the 40th anniversary, or if this is the first of a new series of Midi-scale display pieces. Personally, I’m hoping this is the start of a new series! LEGO will eventually fix little things like that if the fan base gets mad about pretty much everything. August will witness the release of Yoda’s Starfighter, derived from The Clone Wars, priced at 34.99 euros. This 253-piece model showcases the dark green and gray spaceship of the esteemed Jedi Master. The set includes two minifigures: Yoda and R2-D2.
